Colour blind?
Most sensors are colour blind although the colours play an
increasingly important role in today's manufacturing and
processing procedures. Many sensors can distinguish between
contrasts, light and dark and matte and gloss. But when the
detection of a specific colour becomes the primary requirement,
the sensors find their limitations. However, our LOGIPAL III
colour sensors are able to detect the finest nuances in colour.
The colour sensors in the Series 22 compare a taught colour with
the colours that follow in a split second and pass on the
matching factor to the control unit through a digital output. The
unbeatable compactness of the LOGIPAL III sensors allows a
professional, problem free installation even in extremely
restricted spaces in your machines or plants.
 |
A clearly arranged panel with three buttons CH TOL
SET offers easy operation, and up to 4 colors
(channels) can be taught. Of course the acceptable
tolerance can be adjusted separately for each
channel.
|
Flexible rotatable plug
The plug which can be rotated 180 degrees ensures maximum
positioning freedom and offers high flexibility in cable routing.
An 8 pin threaded plug (M12 x 1) fits securely even under harsh
industrial applications and guarantees the high protection class
IP 67.
Faster more economical!
Manufacturing processes are getting faster and faster - costs
need to be reduced. High speed requirements are placed on every
link in the chain from the signal detection by the sensor,
through the control right up to activation of the controllers,
drives, valves etc. Our LOGIPAL III sensor satisfies these
requirements with an extremely short response time of 300 micro
seconds
Compact color sensor
The rugged metal housing for the 2-channel and
4-channel version is unequalled in its size. The
small housing accommodates the entire optics, the
light source, the electronics, the microprocessor,
the keyboard etc. It therefore requires no external
signal processing!

Colour recognition systems have become an integral part of
industrial manufacturing. Whether you want to detect the finest
nuances of materials, distinguish the wrong from the right
objects or sort products using coloured marks, the application
possibilities are almost unlimited. The sensors never let
themselves be confused by the ambient lighting like the human
eye. No colour remains undetected by the sensor.
 |
You will find application examples in
a wide range of industrial areas. For instance,
powders, granules or liquids as well as metals,
glass, types of paper, plastics and all kinds of
textiles are checked and detected according to
significant color features.

General
|
With the colour recognition sensor, Logipal, you
can now use colour as a criterion for your sorting,
quality monitoring and automation processes. Using
the latest technology such as semiconductor light
sources in Chip-on board technology and powerful
microcontrollers, we can offer you an ultra-compact
sensor which will enable you to distinguish several
hundred colours.
|
| |
|
Functional principle
|
Logipal works in a similar manner to our eyes
according to the three-colour procedure with durable,
maintenance free semiconductor light sources. In the
three-colour procedure, any colour can be described
in relation to the primary colours red, green and
blue. In the Teach method, the colour of an object is
stored. If the sensor recognises the colour again
when measuring, it activates the relevant output. The
tolerances can be adjusted as required to allow you
to detect rough or fine colour differences.
|
| |

|
Operation
|
Very simple operation according to the Teach-in
procedure: Four different colors can be stored using
only three keys. For each color, there are five
tolerance levels to choose from. The external Teach
signal input allows complete remote control of all
storage functions and feedback.
|
| |
|
Application criteria
|
Utilisation of the colour sensor is as simple as
the reflection light scanner. Only the two points
below should be noted. Ensure that the sensor is
tilted approx. 15 degrees to the side when using
shiny objects. If you wish to detect very fine
differences in colour, maintain as accurately as
possible a sensing range of 40 mm from the object.
