Description E-173H
The Massa Model E-173H is a new high efficiency audio frequency transducer
which, when used with the supplied folded horn and the customer's own
electronics, offers the O.E.M. a low cost, very high intensity, multi-tone
audible alarm generator. The unique folded horn, which is necessary for
high-efficiency operation of the transducer, may be purchased with the
transducer, or a portion of the horn design can be molded into the O.E.M.'s
product such as into the front panel of a smoke detector or burglar alarm. The
E-173H transducer, when driven with 70 volts RMS delivers a sound pressure of
greater than 125 dB vs .0002 ubar at 1 foot in the frequency range 2.5 to 3.5
kHz.
Although primarily designed as a very efficient transmitting transducer, the
E-173H can also be used as a sensitive receiver. It is ideally suited for
applications requiring a combination listening device and an audible alarm
generator in a compact package such as an audible alarm repeater for recognizing
a weak signal from a smoke detector and repeating the signal as an intense
alarm. It can also be used as an efficient high-intensity intrusion alarm
signal. Consult Factory for special applications and for additional
specifications.
Description E-194
The Model E- 194 is a high-intensity, low-cost alarm comprising the E-173H
transducer and horn assembly plus all the driving electronics contained in a
small attractive package. The small, light-weight unit is designed for O.E.M.'s
or other users who have need for a self-contained, high-intensity alarm which
can be operated from a 9-Volt battery. The E-194 delivers a sound level of 123
dB vs .0002 ubar at 1 foot over the frequency range of 2.5 to 3.5 kHz when
connected to a 9-volt battery, with a current drain of less than 150 mA. The
acoustic power output is 20 dB greater than present UL specification
requirements for smoke alarms and intrusion alarms
Massa Products Corporation is a leading designer and manufacturer of a wide
variety of electroacoustic transducers and systems for use in air and under
water, with over 50 years of specialized experience in this field.
