The new MLC motor load control (Model PMP1701)
provides a simple solution to the prevention of motor damage
caused by overload, jamming or pump dry running. The motor load control is
surface mounted for ease of installation and displays
true power on a large easy to read red digital LED
display. High and low power trips with adjustable on delays and
trip timers are standard. The sensitivity of the low power trip
used to detect dry running is up to ten times that of
conventional undercurrent relays. The 4/20mA analogue output and
individual trip relays allow the flexibility of pump/motor
control and performance monitoring.
The motor load control is presented in a rugged sealed
polycarbonate enclosure with transparent door allowing visibility
of motor power or % of full load. A high power trip is provided
for the detection of jammed impellers or blocked outlets and a
low power trip provides detection of no flow conditions such as cavitation
or loss of prime. The motor load control provides motor protection and
pump protection and is compatible with 3 phase
motors ranging in size up to 240kW, operating on supplies between
230V and 460V.
A large digital display indicates the actual
true power (Volts x Amps x Power Factor) drawn by the pump drive
motor. The motor load control is suited to a wide range of applications where
pump/motor failure or loss of flow must be detected. Although
initially designed to protect seal-less or magnetic drive pumps,
the product is suited to many applications in the water
treatment, chemical, oil, gas and food industries protecting a
wide range of pumps and electric motors of all types.
